The Build Process

Hand-Made in the USA

In the fast-paced digital age we inhabit today, there is a pervasive “Need-it-Now” culture that shapes our daily lives and influences our purchasing decisions. It’s a culture that often prioritizes convenience over quality, leading to an abundance of low-cost, mass-produced, and disposable goods in the market. However, at Deer Valley Woodworks, we defy this trend, as we believe our customers deserve more.

We take pride in crafting furniture the way it used to be made, employing time-honored craftsmanship and sourcing exceptional, high-quality materials. Our commitment to sustainability and unique design sets us apart. Many of our projects are created from materials repurposed from historic structures that have stood for centuries, such as ancient barns, former shoe factories, corn cribs, tobacco drying sheds, and even old bridges and water towers.

As we work with this reclaimed wood, we often uncover hidden treasures, each with its own story to tell. Musket balls, shotgun pellets, cut nails, and even a hidden letter that predates the Civil War have been found within the timeworn beams and planks. This wood is more than just a material; it’s a repository of our early Americana culture and history. Preserving it from the fate of landfills allows us to carry forward the legacies embedded in these structures.

At Deer Valley Woodworks, we consider it a profound privilege to breathe new life into these iconic relics. With a commitment to genuine, old-world craftsmanship, we ensure that the stories of these historical structures continue to resonate with future generations. Our mission is to honor the past while crafting a future where history endures through the timeless beauty and quality of our handcrafted furniture.
